About Us

Lay-driven Church

Welcome to our Church Community!

At the heart of our congregation's leadership is the cherished role of the Volunteer Lay Pastor, a position appointed annually by the Conference. This unique ministry, led by dedicated individuals chosen for their spiritual fervor and leadership qualities, is a testament to our collective belief in service, growth, and community engagement without monetary compensation.

Our Volunteer Lay Pastor takes on a myriad of responsibilities, vital to the lifeblood of our church. They are the guiding force in leading our congregation, whether it's through the nurturing words of a sermon, the insightful journey through Bible studies, or the heartfelt planning of worship services. Their role extends beyond the pulpit to visiting members of our community, chairing the church board, orchestrating mid-week services, and spearheading strategic plans for our church's growth and the nurturing of our faith community through training programs.

Baptisms, communion services, and overseeing reports to the Conference are also key aspects of their ministry, conducted with the utmost respect and adherence to our faith's practices. However, it's important to note that while our Volunteer Lay Pastor plays a crucial role in our spiritual life, there are certain duties they do not perform, such as officiating weddings, providing counseling therapy, leading in ordination services, or making organizational changes to the church structure. These boundaries ensure that our ministry remains focused and effective, always aligned with the guidance of our senior pastor and the Conference Ministerial Director.

Becoming a Volunteer Lay Pastor is not a path to professional ministry but a journey of faith, service, and leadership. It requires dedication, a heart for God's work, and a commitment to furthering one's skills and understanding through training and certification programs endorsed by our local Conference.

We invite you to join us in this journey of faith, leadership, and community service. Whether you're exploring the possibility of serving as a Volunteer Lay Pastor or simply seeking a church home where your faith can flourish, we welcome you with open arms. Together, we strive to live out our calling, serve our community, and grow in our faith, guided by the love and teachings of Christ.

Join us in this fulfilling journey of faith, service, and community growth.

About Seventh-day Adventists

The Seventh-day Adventist Church is a mainstream Protestant church with approximately 20 million members worldwide, including more than one million members in North America. The Seventh-day Adventist Church seeks to enhance quality of life for people everywhere and to let people know that Jesus is coming again soon.

Adventists believe a Trinity of three persons—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—make up one God. They made salvation possible when Jesus, the Son, came to earth as a baby in Bethlehem and lived a sinless life in accordance with the Father's will. When Jesus was crucified for the sins of the people of the world and arose from the dead on the third day, victory was won for everyone.

When He returned to heaven following the resurrection, Jesus left the Holy Spirit to serve as our Comforter and Counselor. He promised to return to earth a second time to complete His plan of salvation and take His people to heaven. Adventists are among the believers who look forward to that day.

Adventists believe that God is concerned with the quality of human life, and that everything—the way we live, eat, speak, think, treat each other, and care for the world around us—is part of His plan. Our families, our children, our jobs, our talents, our money, and our time are all important to Him.
